TRUEFIELD

About Truefield

Truefield publishes a public, versioned standard for how youth sports video platforms capture, licence, retain, and handle footage of minors. It assesses vendors against that standard from documents those vendors have themselves published, and publishes the results free.

What Truefield does

Ratings are free and published without vendor consent. Every vendor in scope is assessed from publicly available documentation. No vendor can purchase a rating, prevent one, or withdraw one.

Certification is separate and voluntary. Assessment against the Standard is part of the ordinary rating process every vendor receives free. A vendor that meets the threshold may licence the certification mark TRUEFIELD VERIFIED; that licence covers commercial use of the mark, continuous monitoring, a public verification page, and annual revalidation. No fee attaches to assessment or to any result.

Clubs, schools, and leagues pay nothing for basic verification, and no account is required to check a vendor's status.

What Truefield does not do

Truefield does not provide legal advice, does not form attorney-client relationships, and does not determine compliance with any law. It conducts no technical or security testing and makes no representation that a vendor's actual practices conform to its published documents.

Truefield sells no remediation, drafting, procurement responses, sales collateral, or readiness consulting to any vendor it rates or certifies. It holds no equity, revenue share, advisory position, or board seat in any vendor within the scope of the Standard. These prohibitions are in Truefield's operating agreement, not merely in policy, and cannot be removed without seventy-five per cent member consent and thirty days' public notice.

Independence

No member, manager, investor, lender, or customer holds any right to direct or influence a determination, and Truefield may not enter any agreement granting one. A retained Substitute Reviewer, independent of Truefield, decides any matter from which Truefield personnel are recused, and any appeal alleging bias. That reviewer's compensation is not contingent on any outcome and Truefield cannot overrule the determination.

The governing terms are published in the Certification Charter.
